Marianne Wiben Jensen is our in-house expert on land rights in Africa and team coordinator of IWGIA’s programme on Land Defense and Defenders, managing IWGIA’s land rights projects in Africa. As a former expert member of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations/Communities for 20 years of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR), she continues to work closely with partners in Africa on their engagement with the African Commission on the issues of Indigenous Peoples’ rights. As a Cultural Sociologist, graduated from the University of Copenhagen, she is specialised in human rights and women's rights in Africa.
